Selecting a High School
Whether you are investigating a high school, special program, or individual courses for a year, there are many resources to help choose the best fit for your teen.
There are also some great resources in helping you understand program and course options for your teen as you navigate the high school experience.
As a parent, you bring your own experiences of life after high school. You may hold a different value for some of these options, resulting in specific expectations for your teen. Keep in mind that a lot has changed from when you graduated high school to when your teen will do the same. There is great value in any of these 6 pathways.
Teens adapt to "the real world" better when they make these decisions for themselves but with support. I invite you to first listen to your teen, and ask questions about their thoughts and feelings. Coming alongside your teen to do some research together, and discuss what those decisions might mean (and more listening) can help your teen to make a more informed decision when graduation is within sight.
